Hexylene glycol or (±)-2-Methyl-2,4-pentanediol or MPD is mainly used as a surfactant or emulsifying agent and in Skin care products. Hexylene Glycol has a low evaporation rate and it is completely miscible with water. it is used in skin care, hair care, soap, and eye cosmetic products at concentrations ranging from 0.1% - 25%.
