Benzyl salicylate is a salicylic acid benzyl ester, a chemical compound most frequently used in cosmetics. It appears as an almost colourless liquid and is rather faint or odorless in nature.
It is used as a solvent for "Synthetic musk & as a Fixative in Floral compositions such as Jasmine, Lilac, Lily etc."
BENZYL SALICYLATE has reported use in the following product types: hair color and bleaching; fragrance for women ; facial moisturizer/treatment; moisturizer; styling gel/lotion ; conditioner; lip gloss; body spray; anti-aging; shampoo.Benzyl salicylate, also called benzyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, is an almost colorless liquid that comes with a mild balsamic floral scent. This is the reason why you may find this chemical in many soaps, shampoos and fabric softeners. In addition to this, it is a naturally occurring constituent of some type of essential oils like ylang ylang and Cananga oils.

EYE CONTACT: - Rinse immediately with plenty
of water for 10 minutes at least. Contact a physician if symptoms persist.
SKIN CONTACT: Wash thoroughly with soap and
water; flush with plenty of water. Take off spoilt clothes. Contact physician if
symptoms persist.
INGESTION: ----- Wash the mouth with water; seek
medical advice immediately.
INHALATION: --- Remove from exposure site to
fresh air and keep at rest. Obtain medical advice.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA RECOMMENDED: CO2, foam,
dry chemicals.

EXTINGUISHING PROCEDURES: ------------ Closed containers may build up pressure at
elevated temperatures. If possible, containers should be cooled with a water
spray.

protective equipment (waterproof boots, suitable protective clothing, safety
glasses). Prevent any contact with hot surfaces. Do not approach facing the
wind.

soil.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP: - Contain spilled material. Cover with an inert,
non-combustible, inorganic absorbent material, or sweep up, and remove to an
approved disposal container. Avoid open flames or other sources of ignition.

good manufacturing and industrial hygiene practices with proper ventilation. Do
not drink, eat or smoke while handling. Respect good personal hygiene.
